Turkey plans to carry out 1 GW of wind power and solar tender in the summer
Berat Albayrak, Turkey's energy minister, said Turkey has started a bid for 1 GW of wind and solar energy and plans to do so by the end of the summer.
In a statement on the DOE's official website, Albayrak said in a speech at the Turkish Energy and Mining Forum in Istanbul that Turkey has already started preparations for the offshore wind power project.
Albayrak mentioned adding battery storage components to the Solar Renewable Energy Resource Area (YEKA) project.
In March 2017, Kalyon-Hanwha Group won the bid for 1 GW solar park. Last August, a consortium led by Siemens-America-Mega Renewable Energy won the tender for a 1-GW wind project.
