Armenian-Iran high-voltage transmission project

The third Armenian-Iran high-voltage transmission project will operate in 2019

Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said recently that by the end of 2019, the third cross-border high-voltage transmission line linking Iran and Armenia is expected to be put into operation.

Reza Ardakanian revealed at the Joint Economic Committee held in Armenian capital Yerevan on the 27th that "both countries will take appropriate measures to promote the construction of a third cross-border transmission line in order to put into operation by the end of 2019."

Not only that, Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian also suggested that this high voltage transmission line should be extended to Georgia. To this end, Iran hopes that Armenia can conduct intensive cooperation with Iranian enterprises on this project.

In addition to the high voltage transmission project, the two sides also exchanged in-depth views on eco-tourism and road traffic cooperation.
