December 15, the Brazilian government will hold 4919km transmission line bidding
The Brazilian energy sector regulators approved the tender rules for transmission lines to be held on December 15, which will provide 11 batches of 4,919 km of transmission lines with a total investment of approximately $ 2.68 billion.
August 31 this year to September 29, the local government held a hearing to improve the tender rules. One-third of these eleven batches require large-scale investments, focusing on the northern-southeastern and northern-northeastern power interconnection projects, particularly the transmission lines of the beautiful mountain hydropower station.
According to reports, the first batch of transmission line bidding is the second largest project in this tender, a total of eight transmission lines, five lines extension line and five substations, a total of 2.017 billion real investment.
The transmission line is expected to create at least 17,980 jobs for local jobs. The duration of the project is 36-60 months, depending on the project location.
The concession contract for the transmission line is expected to be signed in March 2018.
