The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated that China National Aeronautical Technology International Engineering Corporation (AVIC) is very interested in the construction of the Buk Bijela Hydropower Station.
In a statement, Energy Minister Petar Djokic stated that he has met with representatives of AVIC International Engineering to discuss the Buk Bijela Hydropower Station and other forms of cooperation.
In July last year, the Ministry of Energy stated that it had signed a memorandum of cooperation with AVIC International for the construction of the 93.52 MW Buk Bijela hydropower station. In January this year, the project will start in 2018.
“The Buk Bijela hydroelectric power plant is the most important power generation facility that we will start building this year. To date, two Chinese companies have expressed interest and are ready to bid,” said Djokic.
In addition to the hydropower project, AVIC International intends to cooperate with Kosmos, a manufacturer of aviation equipment, and Orao, a local turbojet engine production and maintenance company.
The Ministry of Energy added that AVIC International Engineering is also considering investing in the construction of an airport in Trebinje.
