Germany and Ghana Sign 100 million Euros Renewable Energy Cooperation Agreement
Recently, Germany and Ghana have signed a 100 million euro bilateral agreement to support private investment in Ghanaian renewable energy projects.
Local media in Ghana reported that during a three-day visit to Ghana by German President Steinmeier, the two countries signed an investment and reform cooperation agreement. The cooperation agreement will also fund vocational training as part of the G-20 contract signed by Germany and Africa. The 20-nation compact aims to promote private investment and sustainable economic development in Africa.
Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Ado pointed out that renewable energy is one of Ghanaian priorities and expressed the hope that cooperation with Germany will help to develop sufficient hydropower resources and other renewable energy sources.
