Recently, Indian construction giant Larsen & Toubro (L & T) said its power transmission and distribution business has won two gigantic orders from the Gulf Cooperation Council with a total value of nearly 250 million U.S. dollars.
The first is a contract by Saudi Electric Power Company to build a 380kV double circuit overhead transmission line between Qassim-2 and Madina Eastern Bulk Supply Station.
The company said in a statement that it is one of the longest routes in Saudi Arabia with a line length of over 400 km.
In the UAE, comoany bag orders were designed, delivered, installed, tested and commissioned by three 132 / 11kV substations, as well as commissioning from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Shamal Development and Meraas Development.
In India, L & T received a large order to build a total contract for a 250MW (AC) solar power plant in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Various ongoing work on the business also received additional orders.
L & T is a $ 17 billion technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services group that started its business in the Middle East more than 40 years ago.
According to statistics, the transmission and distribution business has built 225 substations in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and another 75 are under construction.
